Spring 2019…the time had finally come for Aizlewoods HQ to shed its “vintage” and very much outdated look. It has always been the vision to bring the Office back into the 21st Century and reflect the modern & playful branding that we adopted two years ago.
We brought on board the fantastic team from the DL company https://www.thedlcompany.com to help us bring our vision into a reality and boy did they exceed all our expectations. We have gone from a cramped, dull and non ergonomic office space into an open, fresh, light and positive space. The whole team are now together rather than sectioned off into different areas so communication flows much better now not only between office staff but for our fitters & visitors.
It has been a real task to get everything sorted and out of the way whilst still trying to function as a business throughout the refurb, but through the strategic planning of our MD & The DL Company, it all went rather smoothly. In total the project ran for around 6 weeks but it is the best thing we have ever done.
Of course a focal point for us was installing some quality flooring throughout the space. We wanted to go for something smart and functional but with a slight edge to it so we decided to go with the Desso Salt/Rock carpet tile – Salt in blue and teamed it up with the Desso Jeans carpet tile collection in Stonewash for our private meeting room. http://www.desso-businesscarpets.com
Before any of the lovely end product could be installed we had to prepare the floor and grind out channels to allow power sockets to be fitted and for various electrical/data cables to lay in. The floor of course was an extremely difficult one to grind and took a lot of sweat & elbow grease (thankfully no blood or tears!) to complete.
The subfloor was then prepared by priming it with Bostik Screedmaster Universal, screeding it with Bostik Screedmaster and finally installing the carpet tiles with a Mapei Eco tack adhesive. https://www.bostik.com/UK/products/Screedmaster-Original-floor-levelling-compound
