This year we were incredibly proud to be involved in the Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity by way of sponsoring one of the magnificent snowflakes which features on the hospital building every Christmas.
A record breaking 148 local business’s and local schools sponsored snowflakes this year which raised over £130,000, securing the charity’s appeal to obtain a life-changing analysis machine for the hospitals chemical laboratory. The analysis machine is a liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometer which diagnoses vitamin D deficiency which is a condition increasingly on the rise and can cause rickets in children.
As sponsors we were invited along to the ‘big switch on’ which included a presentation all about the hospital charity and where all the sponsorship made would be allocated this year and we also had the privilege of taking a tour around the brand new wing of the hospitals outpatients department (images below)
Sheffield is extremely lucky to have such a wonderful facility such as the children’s hospital as well as all the other fantastic teaching hospitals in the city.
